Following in his family's footsteps, Basil has been singing and performing for as long as he can remember. A multi-talented singer-songwriter and instrumentalist, Basil has opened for Canadian music legends Aaron Goodvin, Jim Cuddy, and Jason McCoy.

Born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario, Basil comes from a family of performers, including his father, the legendary Canadian fiddler Frank Leahy, and his mother, Lisa Bauer-Leahy, an Olympian in the '84 Summer Olympics.

A habitual daily songwriter who continues to hone his craft, Basil devotes his time to developing his music. His musical influences are a keystone to his music style and include many genres and artists, including Justin Bieber, Morgan Wallen, Bon Jovi, John Mayer, Blake Shelton, and Alan Jackson.

Working behind the scenes with vocal coach and lead singer of Chicago, Neil Donell, Basil continues on his musical journey, tirelessly writing and recording new music—making music that he believes can challenge the traditional boundaries of the country genre.
